We arrived in Twin Bridges, Montana late in the afternoon. Stopped at the Wagon Wheel for a bite to eat and the gentleman working there told us we were crazy (Small Boats on Big Oceans). The river is high and fast, and more snow melt and storms are expected. But we've got this!
Setting up Camp
Twin Bridges Bike Camp
Twin Bridges Bike Camp is right on the Beaverhead River with a small boat launch available. We will start our trip here and run the Beaverhead to the Jefferson, to the Missouri, to the Mississippi, to the Gulf of Mexico.
The Bike Camp is an excellent facility, set up along a bike path for long distance cyclists passing through. It is a by donation camp with a nice facility for camping, showering, and cooking. Be sure to visit it if you're passing through, and leave a donation if you utilize the facilities!
Check, Check again
Inherited OCD
Yes, I may have inherited a little OCD from my mom, but when planning a trip like this, making sure you have all the gear and that it is properly working and organized is really important. We checked gear before we left Yuma, AZ, checked again before we left Cedaredge, CO, and again before we left Twin Bridges, MT. Everything was in order, picked up a few incidentals in Twin Bridges, and we are ready to roll!
